The SMD high-power (high voltage) shielded power inductor utilizes the Mn-Zn cores. Shielded tiny SMD power inductor with wide inductance value. There are different dimensions available, from 1608 (6.6x4.4x2.9) to 5022 (18.5x15.2x7.6). An extremely thin wire could be used on this miniature close magnetic inductor to achieve a high inductance value even with the smallest dimension SDS1608 series, therefore, the solder quality plays an important role during the production. Because of this, spot welding was applied to this series. The ferrite drum core provides a higher SRF value and better insulation resistance. The ceramic base with an extra layer of gold plating was utilized on the SDS1608 series. It provides better storage time, is available against corrosion/oxidation, and increases the plating's overall durability.
The product features high breakdown voltage and low DCR, which will be helpful for portable devices to achieve longer battery life. The material for this magnetically shielded series is heat resistant which means suitable for the reflow process and could be used in a harsh temperature environment. The surface of this inductor is flat for easy pick and place SMT assembly.
