The miniature SMD wire-wound inductor is a type of inductor where the winding wire is wrapped around a core without magnetic shielding. On the other hand, the miniature SMD chip inductor is assembled using fully automated processes. Both types of inductors serve the same purpose in electronic circuits, particularly in applications with limited space, such as power supplies, DC-DC converters, and other electronic circuits.


Compared to inductors with ceramic cores, ferrite wire-wound inductors offer several advantages. They can achieve higher inductance values, handle better saturate currents, and have lower DC resistance. However, it's worth noting that the working frequency range of ferrite wire-wound inductors is typically lower than that of inductors with ceramic cores. As a result, designers often prefer to use ferrite wire-wound inductors in power lines, such as DC-DC converters or power applications.

Coilmaster offers SMD miniature wirewound ferrite inductor from small size 1.0mm to 4.0mm footprint, ultra-compact construction, low profile (0.66mm), excellent endurance from pull-up force, and high resistance to mechanical shock. The type of miniature wire-wound inductor is suitable for the tuner (rf circuits), and filter/amplification circuits because the product has high Q factors, high SRF (self-resonant frequency), and tight tolerance (2% available). The product is RoHS, REACH, and Halogen free compliance.
