High Voltage Shielded Inductors (SDS1608~5022 SERIES)

High-Voltage Shielded SMD Power Inductors (Mn-Zn Core, Low DCR, High Isolation)

The SDS1608~5022 series are high-voltage shielded inductors engineered for superior stability in demanding power stages. Utilizing advanced Mn-Zn ferrite cores, these inductors offer enhanced energy storage, stable performance under high current, and ultralow DCR. The closed magnetic path ensures minimal EMI leakage, making them essential for rugged automotive, industrial, and high-frequency telecom applications.

Available in package sizes from 1608 up to 5022, the SDS series provides exceptional inductance coverage and high current handling. Its unique construction—featuring spot-welded terminals, a ceramic base with gold plating, and a high SRF Mn-Zn core—maximizes insulation reliability and mechanical strength. We offer comprehensive customization options (inductance and footprint) for seamless design integration and accelerated time-to-market.

DC Bias Stability & Rugged Mechanical Reliability

This inductor series is engineered to deliver stable inductance under high DC bias with low temperature rise, ensuring predictable current handling and minimal performance drift in real operating conditions. The low DCR design reduces conduction loss, improving power efficiency and extending battery life in DC-DC converters, automotive electronics, and energy-sensitive systems. With an inductance range from 0.1µH to 1500µH, it supports a wide variety of power architectures, from compact point-of-load regulators to high-current power stages.

To ensure long-term mechanical and electrical reliability, the terminals are spot-welded to provide strong solder joint integrity and vibration resistance, making the design suitable for automotive and industrial environments. The ceramic base with gold plating enhances corrosion resistance and storage stability, while the heat-resistant ferrite core is fully compatible with standard reflow soldering, ensuring consistent assembly quality and robust field performance.

Performance-Based Size Selection

This series is available in three standardized footprint options, allowing engineers to quickly select the right balance between size, current handling, and thermal performance:

  • SDS1608 – Optimized for compact designs where space is limited, ideal for low-to-medium current DC-DC converters and point-of-load applications.
  • SDS3316 – A balanced solution offering higher saturation current and improved thermal margin for most automotive and industrial power stages.
  • SDS5022 – The highest-performance option, designed for high-current and high-reliability systems where low DCR, strong DC bias stability, and superior thermal behavior are required.

As the package size increases, current capability, DC bias stability, and thermal performance improve, allowing designers to scale power handling without changing the electrical architecture.
