Unlike newer shielded constructions that use internal welded bases or reinforced carriers, the SRS platform utilizes a conductive core base directly connected to the winding, simplifying the assembly and lowering material cost. The exposed pad connection creates a rigid solder joint after reflow, improving shock stability for lightweight electronics.
