SBS Series: Bakelite-Base Shielded Power Inductors for High Stability & Large Pad Strength
The SBS Series are shielded SMD power inductors featuring SLF-type compatible footprints, designed for engineers who require form-fit-function equivalency without modifying PCB layouts. Using a ferrite drum core and wound magnetic shield, the SBS structure forms a closed magnetic path, minimizing EMI leakage and ensuring predictable inductance under DC bias in general power regulation stages.
Unlike shielded inductors with embedded solder joints, the SBS design employs external solder pads supported by a Bakelite base, improving reflow stability and reducing thermal stress within the magnetic cavity. This structure prevents solder penetration into the winding layer and enhances long-term reliability under load cycling. The SBS Series is ideal for maintaining legacy footprints while improving thermal predictability and supply continuity.
